Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh seeks a full-time faculty member in the Department of Urology with appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor. The role includes attending duties in a large, multi-hospital urology practice and educating medical students, residents, and fellows.

The candidate will provide pediatric urologic services in the Pittsburgh area and pursue an academic career in research. Requirements include MD in Urology with board certification/eligibility, PA licensure eligibility

Qualifications

• Must have an MD in Urology with board certification or eligible.
• Eligibility for medical licensure or practice in Pennsylvania required.
• Completion of an SPU-accredited pediatric urology fellowship required.
• Assistant Professor level: 0–5 years clinical care; Associate Professor level: 6–9 years with evidence of program development or research.
• Experience in a large hospital service is beneficial.

Job description

The Department of Urology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) is seeking a full-time faculty member. The position will include an appointment in the Department of Urology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine as an Assistant or Associate Professor. Focused clinical responsibilities within a department of 40+ Clinical Urologists, will include attending duties in a large, integrated, multi-hospital clinical urology practice and educating students, residents, and fellows. The Candidate will be expected to provide pediatric urologic services within a growing practice in the metropolitan Pittsburgh area.

Minimum Requirements: The Candidate must have an M.D. in Urology with appropriate board certification/eligibility; experience in a large hospital service is beneficial. Eligibility for medical licensure or practice in Pennsylvania is required. Completion of a Societies for Pediatric Urology (SPU)-Accredited fellowship is required. Qualified applicants are expected to have demonstrated excellence and commitment to patient care and experience with leading-edge diagnostic capabilities and delivery. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level should have 0 - 5 years of experience in clinical care and be committed to developing an academic career in clinical, transitional, or basic science research. Candidates at the Associate Professor level should have 6 - 9 years of experience and require evidence of significant educational or new clinical program development and/or a record of substantial clinical, translational, or basic science research.
