Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee is seeking an Urgent Care registration specialist to welcome patient families, perform accurate registrations, and act as a liaison between families and the clinical team to ensure a safe, organized patient flow.

You will follow Front Desk Service Standards, communicate wait times, provide clerical support, and help keep the clinic running smoothly. Travel to all Urgent Care locations may be required, and the role demands strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED/HSED required.
• 1+ years registration or scheduling experience in a healthcare setting or related experience.
• Preferred knowledge of medical terminology from coursework or work experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to CW and Urgent Care policies and standards.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and a secure environment while assisting patients.
• Provides exceptional care to patients and families to fulfill the patient experience promise.
• Alerts provider or RN of any patient needing immediate assistance.
• Completes accurate registration including MyChart activation as outlined by policy.
• Manages scheduling queues and uses scheduling applications for appointments and cancellations.
• Performs clerical duties: answering/directing calls, sorting mail, and maintaining a clean, organized space.
