Job summary

PM Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant to support pediatric urgent care operations. You will assist with patient intake, vital signs, labs, wound care, and imaging preparation under physician supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, pediatric experience, strong communication, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting. Proficiency with computers and medical software is needed; prior EHR/records experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Prior Medical Assistant experience or education preferred.
• Knowledge of EKG placement and processing in children.
• Ability to obtain lab tests via nasal swab and venipuncture.
• Professional and friendly demeanor.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Prior pediatric experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable with computers and basic software.
• Experience with medical records is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Greet and register patients as they arrive.
• Obtain medical history, vitals, and intake.
• Prepare patients for X-rays.
• Perform and document routine labs (throat/urine cultures) with venipuncture as needed.
• Irrigate and assist with wounds.
• Assist in lab quality control testing.
• Support patient care within scope of practice.
• Keep exam rooms and front desk stocked with supplies.
• Maintain waiting room cleanliness and order.
• Follow safety practices and report changes to management.
• Protect patient confidentiality.
• Assist with complaints and service recovery when needed.
• Perform other duties including splints and assisting nurses/providers.
