Job summary

PM Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant to support pediatric urgent care operations under a physician's supervision. You will greet patients, obtain histories, take vital signs, assist with procedures, and help with labs and X-rays.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, pediatric experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; EKG placement and venipuncture knowledge are a plus. This is a fast-paced, patient-centered role offering competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior pediatric medical assistant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of EKG placement and processing in children.
• Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab and venipuncture.
• Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor.
• Comfortable with computers and Microsoft Office.
• Willing to learn medical software.
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Greet and register patients upon arrival.
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake.
• Prepare patients for X-rays and assist with wounds.
• Perform and document routine labs.
• Irrigate and assist with wounds and other minor procedures.
• Maintain exam rooms and front reception stocked with supplies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and safety practices.
• Assist in emergencies and coordinate with the medical team.
• Assist with splints and other procedures as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
