Job summary

Asante is seeking a Unit Secretary for the nursing unit to provide clerical and receptionist support. The role serves as a key liaison among patients, families, visitors, physicians, and coworkers, ensuring smooth communication and efficient workflows.

The position involves order entry, chart preparation for admissions and transfers, and transcription of physician orders under an RN. Strong computer skills and a patient-centered approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field is preferred.
• Previous clerical experience providing knowledge of office procedures, office equipment and computer programs is required.
• Previous experience in a clinical capacity within the nursing unit is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative tasks such as order entry and placing reports into patient records.
• Assist with chart preparation for admissions, transfers, and surgeries.
• Demonstrate strong computer skills using different software applications.
• facilitate workflow in nursing units and transcription of physicians’ orders under RN supervision.
• Promote patient safety and comfort and actively participate in patient satisfaction.
• Provide excellent communication between staff and patients.
