Job summary

Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound examinations for pediatric patients, ensuring accurate imaging and patient comfort. The role requires precise technique, adherence to HIPAA, and collaboration with radiologists.

You will follow PACS/Meditech workflows, participate in on-call coverage, and stay current with equipment upgrades, Lean principles, and high-quality image reporting while maintaining compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• ARDMS certification within one year of completing the ultrasound program.
• New graduate or 1 year of general radiology experience required.
• Pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates ultrasound equipment to produce quality images.
• Follows PACS and Meditech workflow.
• Consults with the radiologist on duty to ensure correct scanning parameters.
• Provides excellent patient care and maintains confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Adapts to new programs and equipment upgrades; participates in Lean initiatives.
