Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with PICU or NICU experience for a night shift at a children's hospital in Oregon. The role involves caring for neonatal and pediatric patients with ventilator and airway management.

You will work 3x12-hour nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, may float to affiliate sites, and collaborate with the healthcare team. Required BLS and RRT; NRP/PALS preferred; state license as applicable; COVID vaccination proof required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of pediatric respiratory care experience, with PICU/NICU exposure.
• BLS and RRT certification required.
• NRP and PALS certifications preferred.
• State license required if applicable.
• Experience with ventilator and airway management in neonatal/pediatric patients.
• Experience with high frequency oscillator and jet ventilators preferred.
• Experience with ECMO, bronchoscopy, and care of infants with BPD, RDS, RSV preferred.
• COVID vaccination proof required, no exemptions accepted.

Responsibilities

• Support respiratory care across NICU, PICU, ED, and pediatric/adult units.
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM).
• No on-call requirements.
• May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs.
• Epic charting experience preferred.
• Provide airway and ventilator management, newborn resuscitation, and CPR.
• Perform arterial blood sampling, bedside spirometry, and point-of-care testing.
• Deliver age-specific care aligned with the hospital's Family Centered Care Program.
• Assist and train other respiratory therapists, students, and healthcare team members.
• Complete competency testing and in-services; chart and charge per policy.
• Unit accepts first-time travelers; local candidates at same rate; no mile radius restriction.
• Returning staff must have a break of 6+ months; RTO within 2 weeks.
