Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position with NICU and Pediatric experience. The role requires NRP, ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications and offers benefits typical of travel/agency assignments.

The ideal candidate will have a graduate Respiratory Therapy program, RRT or CRT credentials, and a preference for an RCP license. Minimum two years in NICU/Pediatric settings is expected, with night shifts and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• RRT or CRT credential required.
• RCP license preferred; license required if applicable.
• BLS certification required.
• NRP, ACLS, and PALS required at hire or within 90 days.
• Minimum 2 years of NICU and Pediatric experience.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting within the Respiratory Therapy department.
• Provides respiratory care services for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patient populations.
• Able to intubate patients.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12s, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Rotating weekend coverage required.
• Assesses and documents appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy for patients.
• Administers aerosol and oxygen therapy and maintains patient charts.
• Draws arterial blood gases per policy and physician order.
• Provides care to ventilator-dependent patients.
• Performs drainage procedures and provides cardio-respiratory disease care.
• Assists in training and supervision of new employees.
• Documents care given and maintains treatment records for charting and billing purposes.
• Instructs nursing personnel on patient and equipment surveillance after initial installation.
• Offers input on patient treatment plans and pulmonary progress.
• Completes EMR documentation, flow sheets, and charges for each patient.
• Position represented by SEIU
• Local candidates accepted with no radius rule and local rates matching travel rates.
