Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pediatric Transport Team at the New Brunswick campus. This Evening shift, 36 hours per week, emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration, and clinical excellence in a fast-paced SCTU environment.

You will perform pediatric transports, administer medications, monitor critically ill children, document in EPIC, and partner with physicians and advanced providers to ensure safe handoffs.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• TNCC certification preferred; EMT license preferred.
• 3–5 years PICU RN or related experience required.
• Pediatric Transport experience preferred.
• Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pediatric patient assessments and recognize changes early.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Partner with physicians and providers to coordinate timely care decisions.
• Deliver clear education to patients and families for next care steps.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity and safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and smooth handoffs.
• Collaborate in a highly team-based SCTU environment and pursue growth.
