Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Center for Transport Medicine.

You will ensure safe, high‑quality care for critically ill or injured patients during ground or air transport, coordinating stabilization and treatment with a multidisciplinary team. The role requires a BSN and Illinois RN license, 3+ years of pediatrics in high‑acuity settings, and BLS; PALS/NRP/ACLS/TNCC are preferred and must be obtained within the first year.

Qualifications

• BSN and IL RN license in good standing required.
• Minimum of 3 years pediatrics experience in high acuity inpatient setting (ICU, ED, transport).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• PALS/NRP/ACLS/TNCC preferred and must be obtained within the first year of hire.
• Nurses must obtain C-NPT within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct care during interfacility transport for neonatal to adult patients.
• Administer medications per policies and procedures.
• Perform stabilizing and life-saving procedures, including CPR and airway management as needed.
• Communicate with medical control physicians regarding patient status and interventions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments and responses; use transport equipment effectively.
