Job summary

Sacramento County is seeking a Therapist Aide to assist Therapists in treating children with disabilities within a CCS medical therapy unit.

Under supervision, you will perform basic office tasks, maintain records, follow instructions, and collaborate with staff, children, and families. This entry-level role requires English proficiency and a willingness to learn therapy procedures in Sacramento County locations.

Qualifications

• There are no education or experience requirements for this class.
• Criminal history/background checks will be performed; fingerprinting may be required.
• A valid California Driver License, Class C or higher, is required at appointment.
• Background checks may include references, credit history where allowed.
• Child and elder abuse reporting requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist Therapists in treating children with disabilities in a medical therapy unit.
• Follow verbal, written and demonstrative instructions of a technical and professional nature.
• Communicate with staff, children with physical disabilities, and their families.
• Learn body structure and function, therapy procedures/treatments, and use of therapy equipment.
• Read, write, and speak English at a level necessary for satisfactory job performance.
• Develop and maintain cooperative, effective working relationships with others, including patients and school staff.
