Job summary

Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking a Surgical Nocturnist APP to join our夜time surgical care team. You will provide overnight surgical consultations and patient management across subspecialties, including ED referrals, admissions, and operative support.

Shifts are twelve hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Requires MSN/PA training and Florida licensure, with ability to serve as First Assist as credentialed.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing (APRN) or Physician Assistant Studies required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of RN or Advanced Practice Provider experience in pediatric settings.
• Current BLS/PALS and applicable state licenses; Surgical First Assist training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs overnight surgical consultations originating in the Emergency Center.
• Provides pre-operative medical clearance and orders; assists in the operating room as First Assist when credentialed.
• Conducts rounds and participates in admission histories and physicals for surgical patients.
• Ensures safe overnight care, triages emergencies, and collaborates with surgeons, fellows, residents, and nursing staff.
• Completes discharge planning and summaries for surgical patients.
