Job summary

OU Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a Surgical Support Tech for the Pediatric Surgery team. You will transport patients, specimens, and supplies, assist with patient positioning, and support cleaning and safety protocols in the Surgical Suites.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a BLS certification. No prior experience is required, and you will join a collaborative team in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients, specimens, supplies, blood, and equipment as directed.
• Ensures safe transport procedures for blood and other specimens.
• Transports patients and families to appropriate areas or waiting rooms.
• Notifies OR desk or charge nurse of changes in patient status.
• May assist in emergency actions.
• Assists with moving and positioning patients in the Surgical Suite.
• Completes required documentation.
• Reports changes in patient condition during transport.
• Performs daily/weekly cleaning within Surgical Suites.
• Maintains department cleanliness (hallways, bathrooms, lounges, supplies).
• Follows procedures for waste disposal and safety regulations.
• Restocks supplies, linens, and solutions.
• Performs other support services as requested.
