Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Clinical Support Assistant for Outpatient Surgery in Edmond. This PRN role supports the Adult PACU team, with shifts from 9:30am to 6pm, under RN supervision. The position performs routine patient care tasks, vital signs, specimen collection, and helps with admissions and transports.

Requires a HS diploma or GED and BLS certification; no prior experience is required. Strong communication and ability to follow instructions are essential, along with maintaining a clean, safe

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to maintain effective working relations with others.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of RN, monitor patient health status and participate in the plan of care.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders within scope.
• Record vital signs and weights; perform blood glucose monitoring.
• Set up and discontinue telemetry monitoring; collect specimens as directed.
• Apply sterile dressings and remove sutures or drains as assigned.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers; transport patients as needed.
