Job summary

The University of Illinois Chicago in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Medical Office Assistant - Pediatric Surgery within the College of Medicine for a full-time, on-site position. The role supports administrative operations, scheduling, and medical record preparation in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM with a 1.0 FTE. Benefits include Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, a Retirement Plan, Paid time Off, and Tuition waivers for employees and dependents.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Illinois Residency required within 180 days of employment.
• Benefits eligibility as part of University of Illinois System.

Responsibilities

• Provide support on various administrative/organizational matters.
• Assist in special projects and essential programs, including complex scheduling for meetings/events.
• Answers, screens, and routes telephone inquiries to appropriate party.
• Works independently in monitoring work queues and/or outlook calendars.
• Operates office equipment and uses word processing, spreadsheet, and other software applications to prepare reports, invoices, financial statements, letters, case histories, and medical records.
• Coordinate administrator's schedule; invites and notifies participants.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
