Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to inspect, prepare, receive and issue sterile equipment for the Operating Room and inpatient units. You will contribute to safe and efficient surgical support by processing instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and coordinating with OR staff.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and 6 months to 1 year of related healthcare experience; CRCST certification is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 months to 1 year related healthcare experience.
• CRCST certification required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, prepare, receive and issue sterile processing equipment and supplies for OR and inpatient units.
• Perform tasks that support clinical operations of the OR with safe, efficient processing.
• Assemble paperwork for patients and prepare instruments and trays for sterilization.
• Wash, inspect, prepare and issue instruments and equipment; maintain sterilization records.
