Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for our Pediatric Specialty Care Unit / Peds Step Down Unit. The 22-bed unit cares for intermediate pediatric patients with renal diagnoses and high-flow needs. You will provide holistic care, family-centered education and coordinate with the healthcare team.

The schedule includes rotating day and night shifts. Minimum qualifications include BLS and PALS within 6 months, Virginia RN license, and 1 year of critical

Qualifications

• Certification – Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Certification – Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
• Licensure – RN in Virginia or eligible for multi-state license.
• Experience – 1 year in a critical care or pediatric ICU setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting data sets.
• Formulates individualized care plans based on assessment findings.
• Delivers patient care in a patient/family centered manner across continuum.
• Advocates for patients' rights and provides counsel to families.
• Coordinates care with other disciplines for transitions and outcomes.
• Documents care activities and supports accurate charting.
• Evaluates care processes and revises plans to improve outcomes.
• Demonstrates clinical decision making and promotes team development.
• Communicates effectively and collaborates with other clinical disciplines.
