Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Vallejo, California is seeking a Speech Therapist I (Pediatrics) for a 36-hour work week to provide speech therapy services under supervision. You will deliver direct patient care and participate in multidisciplinary rounds, with responsibilities spanning documentation, education, and collaboration.

Requirements include CFY by hire date, accredited SLP degree, California SLP license, and ASHA CCC. BLS and NPI are also required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CFY internship by date of hire.
• Graduate from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
• California SLP license required at hire.
• National Provider Identifier required at hire.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• ASHA CCC required at hire.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in line with licensure acts and Kaiser Permanente policies.
• Document services accurately and timely per requirements.
• Participate in multidisciplinary clinics, rounds, and case conferences.
• Refer patients to appropriate providers when outside scope.
• Instruct patient education classes or groups as requested.
• Provide in-service and training sessions as needed.
• Serve as clinical instructor or mentor for staff.
• Assist in orientation and training of employees.
• Participate in performance-improvement projects.
• Oversee SLP Assistants and Rehab Aides as applicable.
• Monitor work of contract therapists and patient care.
• Perform other duties within scope of practice.
