Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH, seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to diagnose and treat speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders, improving communication and quality of life for pediatric patients in the ECMH Outpatient Clinic.

The role focuses on evaluating developmental status, creating goals, and implementing evidence-based therapies with families, supervision of students and fellows, and collaboration with medical staff.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • Valid Ohio License in Speech Pathology required.
  • ASHA Certification, or eligible for supervision by a certified SLP during a fellowship, required.
  • CPR certification no later than 60 days post hire or post expiration, required.
  • Previous pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patients to determine developmental and functional status.
  • Identifies strengths/deficits, sets goals, and develops a treatment plan with family input.
  • Administers therapy to improve communication, swallowing, and related functions.
  • Utilizes developmentally appropriate activities to meet patient needs and therapy goals.
  • Educates families on treatment goals and home activities; monitors progress.
  • Documents and maintains caseload, scheduling, and daily charges.
  • Collaborates with physicians, payors, and other healthcare providers.
  • Conducts SLP educational programs for staff, students, and community; supervises students.
