Job summary

Sentara BelleHarbour, an outpatient medical center in North Suffolk, is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for its pediatric outpatient center in Suffolk, VA. The role focuses on delivering evidence-based speech-language therapies and collaborating with families to support patient outcomes in a welcoming team environment.

Required licensure in Speech-Language Pathology with a Bachelor’s degree in the field; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology or Communications Disorder is required.
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs modalities/therapeutic interventions in line with standards of care and department policies.
• Provides instruction to patient and family through standardized programs or individualized training, collaborating with internal and external team members to improve outcomes.
• Develops and maintains formal care plans addressing individual patient needs and selects appropriate assessment procedures.

As a Speech Language Pathologist you will:

• Performs modalities/therapeutic interventions in accordance with accepted standards of care and department policies and procedures.
• Provides effective instruction to the patient and family through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training. Initiates, develops, and maintains collaborative interactions with internal and external team members, patients, and family members to improve patient outcomes.
• Productive and efficient in daily operations. Selects and performs the appropriate assessment procedures. Establishes and updates formal plan of care to address individual patient needs.

Education

• Minimum - Bachelor’s Degree Speech Pathology or Communications Disorder (Required)
• Master’s Degree Speech Language Pathologist (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• Valid license Speech Language Pathologist. (Required)
• BLS
