Job summary

Connecticut Children’s seeks a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to assess and treat pediatric communication and swallowing disorders across age from neonate to adolescent. Responsibilities include intervention, family education, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, CT licensure (or eligibility with licensure within 45 days), and ASHA CCC within one year.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
  • Three years pediatric and/or hospital experience preferred.
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in CT or eligibility with licensure within 45 days.
  • ASHA CCC within one year of hire; BLS/CPR within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Screen, identify, diagnose, intervene and follow-up for articulation, fluency, language and swallowing disorders.
  • Support and consult with families, professionals and other communication partners; refer when appropriate.
  • Select and fit prosthetic/adaptive devices for speaking and swallowing.
  • Use instrumental assessments (e.g., videofluoroscopy, nasendoscopy, ultrasonography, stroboscopy).
  • Provide aural rehabilitation and counseling for individuals with hearing loss and families.
