Qualifications

• Master's degree in communication disorders or speech-language pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
• Illinois SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Illinois PEL or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to collaboration, lifelong learning, and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of child's speech, language, fluency, voice, and social communication skills.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable goals based on assessment findings.
• Provide direct speech-language therapy services to children with diverse communication needs using play-based and other approaches.
• Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary team members to support a child’s success.
• Integrate communication goals into educational programming, classroom activities, and daily routines.
• Educate families and caregivers regarding communication development and intervention strategies.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation including evaluations, progress reports, treatment plans, and service records.

Education

Master's Degree in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology

Illinois Speech-Language Pathology License or eligibility to obtain licensure

Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or eligibility to obtain licensure

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Commitment to collaboration, lifelong learning, and evidence-based practice
