Job summary

SOAL Home Health Services is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to assess, diagnose, and treat pediatric speech, language, and swallowing disorders, in home health settings across Austin. You’ll conduct evaluations, develop plans, and deliver therapy to improve communication and quality of life.

Requirements include a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, valid state license, ASHA certification, and preferred pediatric/home health experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Valid state license or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Valid ASHA Certification.
• Experience in pediatrics and home health is preferred.
• Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Ability to assess and diagnose speech and language disorders in patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results.
• Provide therapy sessions to patients with speech and language disorder.
• Utilize a variety of techniques and modalities to improve patients’ communication skills.
• Collaborate with SOAL’s multidisciplinary team and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Monitor and document patients' progress throughout the treatment process.
• Educate patients and their families on strategies for improving communication outside of therapy sessions.
