Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital West Campus in Houston seeks a Speech Language Pathologist specializing in feeding and swallowing and speech-language pathology to diagnose and treat pediatric patients from birth to 21 years.

Requirements include Master's in SLP, CCC-SLP, Texas license, and at least two years of pediatric experience; respiratory fit testing is required as part of occupational health standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; CCC-SLP certification required; TX licensure required.
• Two years of professional pediatric speech-language pathology experience required, may include a clinical fellowship but not training completed before master's degree.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient evaluations and reassessments with established guidelines.
• Develops individualized plans of care with measurable goals in collaboration with patients and families.
• Provides speech-language therapy within scope of training and responsibilities.
• Monitors outcomes and coordinates care with families, physicians, and other professionals.
• Makes referrals for additional evaluations and consultations as appropriate.
• Educates patients and families about treatment plans and home programs.
• Documents care plans and progress in EMR and submits charges timely.
• Mentors less experienced staff and shares clinical knowledge.

Education

Master's degree in speech-language pathology, communication sciences and disorders, or a related field

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)

Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license
