Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a licensed polysomnographic technologist to perform diagnostic sleep studies for patients from newborn to 21 years old. The role requires independent testing, scoring, and attention to family education, with a focus on safe, high-quality care during night shifts.

Qualified candidates will have 10 years of experience or equivalent certification (RPSGT/RRT/CRT) and must obtain BLS within 30 days, plus Georgia RCP licensure or NBRC credentials.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in polysomnography or a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment
  • Active Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) license from the State of Georgia / NBRC credentials

Responsibilities

  • Independently performs diagnostic polysomnographic testing and scoring in accordance with accepted national standards for patients from newborn to 21 years old
  • Monitors and addresses patient and family comprehension, understanding, and compliance regarding treatment and testing
  • Identifies and corrects issues with testing technical quality
  • May assist with orientation of new staff and participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives
