Florida Department of Health in Indian River County seeks a Nursing Program Specialist to staff and provide nursing care in the Special Needs Shelter during activations and emergencies. You will support immunization programs, case management, and school health services for children and families.

The role requires an active Florida RN license, BLS, and a minimum of two years in pediatric nursing, with on-call duties and potential for after-hours work during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Active Florida Registered Nurse License or a multi-state license from another Compact State.
• Basic Life Support Certification is required.
• Valid Driver License to conduct DOH tasks.
• 2 years minimum experience in pediatric nursing.

Responsabilités

• Staff nursing care in the Special Needs Shelter during activations and emergencies.
• Provide case management and disease-specific education to school-age children and parents.
• Coordinate and participate in immunization programs and outreach activities.
• Maintain employee health database and assist with Employee Health Program coordination.
• Perform nursing assessments, counseling, and referrals using the nursing process.
