Florida Department of Health in Fort Pierce seeks a Senior Community Health Nurse to lead school health programs and community health initiatives across St. Lucie County.

You will supervise unlicensed school health aides, perform mandated screenings, and support immunization efforts in clinics and community settings. The role requires a Florida nursing license, CPR, a valid driver’s license, and at least one year of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Current, active Florida Nursing License or a multistate license from another Compact State
• Valid driver's license (position requires driving your own and/or a state vehicle)
• One year of nursing experience
• Current CPR certification

Responsabilités

• Perform vision, hearing, scoliosis and growth screenings as mandated and refer abnormal results.
• Administer immunizations and assist with family planning and STD services.
• Develop Nursing Care Plans and Emergency Action Plans for students with chronic conditions; delegate to UAPs when appropriate.
• Plan and deliver health education on nutrition, sun safety, water safety and hand washing.
• Attend 504/IEP meetings and collaborate with families, teachers and health care providers.
• Monitor immunizations and manage vaccine records; assist with TB/HIV related duties and lab tasks in HMS.
• Submit quarterly grant reports with outcomes and demographics; support laboratory duties and community outreach.
