Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited speech and hearing program certified by the State of Tennessee and ASHA.
• Valid Tennessee credentials and license authorizing service in assigned grade levels and areas.
• Experience in speech and language therapy with children with communicative disabilities in school, home and clinics.
• Some experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including collaboration with families preferred.
• Knowledge of development, disorders and pediatric language/hearing assessment and treatment techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic, remedial, and consultative service for children with communicative disorders.
• Operate as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Direct clinical habilitative educational management for students with disorders of language, speech, and hearing.
• Evaluate and diagnose children with speech and language disorder through standardized tests and techniques.
• Convey pertinent information to appropriate personnel and select children for enrollment in therapy by criteria and guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports to comply with state, federal, and administrative regulations.
• Identify student abilities and needs per Tennessee DOE guidelines with the IEP team and develop long- and short-term goals.
