Cayuga Health System seeks a Pediatric Physical Therapist to work in the Elmira City School District. This position can be 10 or 12 months full-time; if 10 months is chosen, summers are off.

The Physical Therapist evaluates patients, develops individualized treatment programs, and provides therapeutic interventions with the rehab team. NY State license and BLS within 90 days are required; hospital/acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Physical Therapist in New York State.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Hospital/acute care experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs independently and up to 150 lbs with assistance.

Responsabilités

• Review therapy requisitions and evaluate patients’ physical condition and needs.
• Develop treatment plans including therapeutic exercise, gait training, modalities, and functional training.
• Instruct patients in proper use of mobility aids, braces, prosthetics, and equipment.
• Reassess and modify treatment plans based on patient progress and clinical judgment.
• Communicate with physicians and team members to coordinate patient care.
• Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Provide guidance to rehab support staff assisting with patient care.
• Maintain safety standards, equipment, and infection control procedures.
