Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking a School-Based Physical Therapist (Pediatric) to support Elmira City School District in Elmira, NY. This full-time, 10-month (summers off) or 12-month role focuses on pediatric physical therapy within a school setting.

You will evaluate students, create treatment plans, and deliver interventions, partnering with an interdisciplinary team and reporting to the Clinical Coordinator of Rehab Services. A collaborative, patient-centered approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Physical Therapist in New York State.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Hospital or acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review therapy referrals and assess students’ physical needs.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with PT interventions.
• Teach use of mobility aids, braces, prosthetics, and adaptive equipment.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams for coordinated care.
• Complete all required documentation (evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries).
• Provide direction to rehab support staff.
• Maintain safety and infection control procedures.
• Contribute to quality initiatives, meetings, and committees.
• Assist with student transport and coverage for senior therapists.
