Job summary

CARIN Alliance seeks a registered nurse specialized as a SANE P to provide compassionate, expert care for pediatric sexual assault patients in a hospital setting. The role includes conducting exams, documenting evidence with strict chain of custody, and educating patients on procedures and follow-up care.

You will coordinate crisis interventions, collaborate with law enforcement and advocacy groups, and may participate in community or professional training, including offering legal testimony

Qualifications

• IAFN-accredited SANE P course with Illinois clinical component.
• Preferred Baccalaureate Degree or higher and emergency or women’s health experience.
• Minimum one year as a SANE RN; must hold current Illinois RN licensure in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical and forensic exams, collect and document evidence with proper chain of custody, and educate patients on procedures, STD and pregnancy prevention, and follow-up care.
• Facilitate access to crisis intervention, coordinate with law enforcement and advocacy groups, and participate in community and professional training.
• Provide legal testimony when required and ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
