Job summary

Children’s Mercy Kansas City is seeking a registered nurse to deliver expert, trauma-informed nursing care to sexual assault patients under supervision of the Child Adversity Resilience and ED/Urgent Care teams. You will perform medical/forensic exams, collect evidence, and collaborate with the healthcare team.

The role emphasizes teaching families, maintaining certifications, and participating in quality improvement, with a commitment to inclusion and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree ADN required.
• BSN preferred for nurses hired after September 1, 2013.
• Licensed RN KS or MO multistate license; obtain KS/MO multistate within 90 days.
• RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO; obtain KS/MO multistate within 90 days.
• Life Support Certifications required upon hire.
• Specialty Certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs forensic/medical exams under supervision with the healthcare team.
• Meets the educational needs of patient, family and staff.
• Delivers therapeutic, safe and efficient care.
• Attends education programs and maintains mandatory certifications.
