Norton Healthcare seeks a Pediatric & Adolescent SANE Nurse to deliver emergent medical and forensic evaluations for children and adolescents suspected of sexual abuse or maltreatment at a Norton Healthcare hospital.
The role includes forensic photography, evidence collection, chain of custody, and potential court testimony, coordinating with ED teams, detectives, attorneys, advocates and child protection workers to support patients aged 0-18.
Qualifications
- One year of Nursing experience.
- Associate Degree Nursing.
- Registered Nurse and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Pediatric (SANE P/A) - Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN).
Responsibilities
- Provide emergent medical and forensic evaluations for children and adolescents suspected victims of sexual abuse, sexual assault, human trafficking, or other forms of child maltreatment.
- Perform forensic photography, evidence collection, maintain chain of custody, and provide court testimony when required; act as liaison for ED teams, detectives, attorneys, crisis center advocates, CAC personnel and child protection workers.
