Job summary

Shriners Children’s Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Same Day Surgery team in Dayton, OH. The role provides pre- and post-operative care, admissions, discharge, and PACU collaboration.

The position is full-time, 40 hours weekly, with four 10-hour days from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, no weekends or holidays. The ideal candidate will hold an Ohio RN license, have at least 2 years of acute care experience, and active BLS certification.

Qualifications

• BSN degree or in progress.
• Ohio RN License.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in acute care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze patient assessment data to identify actual or potential health issues.
• Assess physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs.
• Modify care plans based on ongoing assessment and patient response.
• Ensure continuity of care through effective documentation.
• Monitor patient progress toward established goals.
• Reassess and revise care plans as needed.
• Engage patients, families, and team members in outcome evaluation.
