Please click here to learn more about our locations.**Job Description****Job Summary** The Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) in Surgical Services at Shriners Hospitals for Children provides expert, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role involves pre-operative assessment, intra-operative support, and post-operative recovery care, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and a safe environment. **Key Responsibilities*** The coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care in the operating room.* Supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.* Will function within the Shriners Hospitals for Children Professional Practice Model (FOCUSED), which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.* The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN.* Provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.* Delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources.* Possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects.**Required Qualifications*** Associate's degree in nursing (ADN)* RN license in state of practice (SC)* Basic Life Support (BLS)* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)* Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), obtained within one year of employment as required by hospital**Preferred Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)* 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care hospital* Pediatric and/or orthopedic experience The pay range for this position is $47.08 - $70.62.
