Job summary

Brown University Health at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence is seeking a registered nurse to deliver direct patient care across the lifespan, with leadership duties and involvement in quality improvement. The role includes pediatric and complex medical/psychiatric care, teaching patients and families, and acting as a preceptor for newer staff.

Night shifts are required, with CPI/behavior safety training within required timeframes.

Qualifications

Current RN license in Rhode Island.
BSN preferred.
Experience providing direct nursing care to patients across lifespan, including pediatric and behavioral health considerations.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care.
Lead and supervise nursing activities with safe care practices.
Evaluate care effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with healthcare team, patient, family and community services.
Assess teaching needs and deliver age-appropriate education.
Engage in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
Maintain clinical competencies per credentialing standards and safety education.
Serve as a role model/preceptor for new graduates and less experienced staff.
Possess charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
Provide care to pediatric patients with complex medical and psychiatric diagnoses.
