Job summary

Brown University Health seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for a full-time night shift at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. Under supervision, you will implement, supervise and evaluate nursing care across the patient life span, coordinating discharge planning with the care team.

You will lead by example, provide teaching and participate in quality improvement while maintaining BLS and ACLS/PALS as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Licensure as Registered Nurse in Rhode Island.
• Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.
• Must have current licensure to practice as an RN in Rhode Island.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to care for patients through the life span, considering aging and culture.
• Twelve months of Medical/Surgical strongly preferred; critical care experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads and delegates to ensure safe nursing care by the team.
• Evaluates patient care effectiveness and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Collaborates with the care team, patient, family, and community for discharge planning.
• Delivers teaching based on patient/family needs.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Uses resources to provide quality, cost-effective care.
• Maintains clinical competencies per credentialing standards and BLS/ACLS/PALS as appropriate.
• Supports education and professional development for staff.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
