Job summary

CarePoint Health Management Associates seeks a Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) to provide medical support to children under physician supervision. Duties include communicating with families, recording vital signs, and administering medications.

The ideal candidate has an NJ RN license, an Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelors preferred), and BLS/PALS certification. Shift is 7pm–7:30am with rotating weekends; competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Must possess licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey
• AHA accredited BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Previous Pediatric experience preferred.
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assessing a child's needs and providing initial care
• Identifying changes in children's symptoms and intervening in emergency situations
• Participating in pain management for children
• Administer medications, draw blood, and give childhood vaccinations following age-appropriate guidelines
• Monitor temperature, pulse, breathing, and blood pressure and keep accurate records
• Evaluate children for signs and symptoms of abuse
• Provide supportive care to dying children
• Deal with the anxieties and demands of parents and help families deal with their child’s illness or injury
• Remain up to date on the latest developments, rules and regulations, drug therapies, equipment and treatment procedures
