Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a pediatric RN to provide nursing care and guidance under physician supervision. This PRN role offers 16 hours bi-weekly with a variable schedule in a hybrid environment.

The ideal candidate will hold a BSN, an Ohio RN license (MSL), and a current BLS certification, with 2+ years of experience preferred, particularly in pediatric ambulatory care. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BSN is required; those without BSN must obtain within 5 years.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Active RN license in Ohio (MSL) within 90 days for tele-nursing outside Ohio.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience supervising: none.

Responsibilities

• Supports provider staff and promotes efficient operation and quality care for pediatric patients.
• Precepts new employees and mentors clinical staff.
• Provides patient assessment as required.
• Participates in staff education for clinically related issues.
• Assesses clinical competency and participates in evaluations at 90 days and annually.
• Advocates for health maintenance of children in interactions with families and the public.
• Provides care for physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of patients.
• Facilitates discharge planning and requests consultations as directed.
