Job summary

Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, IL seeks a Registered Nurse for the outpatient center. A BSN or higher is required, with an Illinois RN license and BLS certification. You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop and adjust care plans, and educate families in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher required; for difficult-to-fill roles, ADN with equivalent experience may be approved.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients/families, physicians and hospital staff.
• Special certifications may be required by department.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing assessments utilizing a variety of assessment methods and/or area-specific tools.
• Develops or individualizes plans of care and develops goals relative to family needs.
• Develops or individualizes teaching plans/protocols to meet patient and family learning needs.
• Performs nursing care according to procedures/protocols and intervenes in emergent situations.
• Communicates with the family and multidisciplinary team to identify health care needs and referrals.
