Job summary

Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago seeks a Registered Nurse for the outpatient center. The role requires a BSN or higher, IL RN licensure, and BLS certification; you will assess patients, develop care plans, and educate families.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, follow infection control protocols, and participate in quality initiatives while delivering compassionate care to children and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (or higher) required; exceptions may apply for certain difficult-to-fill roles.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in Illinois.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing assessments using various methods and tools.
• Develops and updates plans of care based on family needs and evaluates progress.
• Teaches plans/protocols to meet patient/family learning needs and monitors changes.
• Provides nursing care per procedures/protocols and intervenes in emergent situations.
• Communicates with families and multidisciplinary team about health needs and referrals.
