Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Associate, or Technical nursing credential with BSN pathway underway.
• Current Texas Board of Nursing licensure is required.
• Current BLS from American Heart Association is required.
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; pediatric/critical care/emergency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents patient/family assessments across bio-psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual and environmental factors.
• Collects and analyzes data from the medical record to coordinate patient care.
• Identifies patient teaching needs, discharge planning, growth and development considerations, nutritional screening, functional status, and pain management.
• Re-prioritizes and updates care plans as patient condition changes and communicates with the care team.
• Documents patient plans of care and discusses with family as appropriate.
• Evaluates patient responses to care and progress toward outcomes; documents in the chart.
• Develops and documents individualized teaching plans for patient/family education.
• Acts as patient/family advocate while collaborating with the health care team.
• Administers and documents medications and treatments in a timely manner.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Associates Degree in Nursing with BSN enrollment

Technical diploma in nursing with BSN enrollment

Nursing bridge program toward MSN

BSN equivalency verification or signed agreement
