Intermountain Health Primary Children’s Hospital seeks a Clinical Tech Manager to lead ambulatory operations and drive a strategic vision for outpatient clinics and affiliated locations.

The role focuses on high-quality patient care, process improvement, and collaboration with UU, Intermountain providers, and administrative leaders to optimize resources and space utilization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• Current RN license in state of practice; compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Demonstrated healthcare management experience.
• Computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email.

Job Description

The Clinical Tech Manager for Primary Children's Hospital provides model leadership and accountability for ambulatory operations at Primary Children's Hospitals, and its affiliated outreach and satellite locations consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Primary Children's Hospital and the University of Utah School of Medicine. This position develops and implements a vision and strategy for Primary Children's outpatient clinics, in partnership with appropriate stakeholders.

Essential Functions

• Develops, implements, and is accountable to outcomes and measures that define successful achievement of our shared vision.
• Leads the design, measurement, improvement, and execution of processes and workflows consistent with our goal of achieving the highest possible quality) at the lowest appropriate cost.
• Develops and fosters collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including community, University of Utah, and Intermountain providers, service line leaders and administrative leadership.
• Leads and Builds Organizational Talent and fosters a work environment that engages and motivates employees. Allocates available resources to promote efficient, safe and quality care and develops/coaches new Managers and Leaders. Challenges, develops, inspires, and supports outpatient services and related diagnostics staff and leadership.
• Delivers high quality patient care through ongoing process evaluation and clinical outcomes and oversees Infection Prevention, Medical Emergency Response, Joint Commission Preparedness and SOS 22/SOS 11 Compliance for all ambulatory clinic locations.
• Works with the central leasing team to manage all shared space lease agreements (approximately 30) at all sites and manage all associated invoicing. Manages all construction projects needed in clinical space to improve patient care, clinic flow and optimization of resources.
• Oversee clinical education for ambulatory staff at Primary Children's; providing orientation, annual training and competency verification. (Including RQI and Learning Management Assignments.)
• Oversee risk management and service recovery efforts for ambulatory patients; interface with UU/PCH partners to ensure needed changes are made to mitigate future risk. Investigate concerns and communicate with patients when service recovery is needed.
• Leads the strategic planning for affiliated clinics and diagnostic services to ensure attainment of organizational goals. Responsible for multiple hospital level goals and initiatives annually.
• Works collaboratively with project management, continuous improvement, EMR support and data analytics to support continued improvement in operational structure and workflows.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required. Bachelors degree must be in Nursing. Degree will be verified.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Demonstrated healthcare management experience.
• Computer proficiency (Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, and Email applications).

Preferred Qualifications

• Academic Medical Center experience.
• Ambulatory care experience.
• Pediatric Sub-Specialty Clinic experience.

Physical Requirements

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess patient needs.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, etc.
