Job summary
Duke Health in Durham, NC is seeking a registered nurse for the General Pediatrics Unit. The unit handles a diverse pediatric population with general medical and surgical needs, with an average stay of three days or less. Nurses care for 3-4 patients with support from a charge nurse and care assistant.
Schedule features 3, 12-hour shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m.), day/night rotation, totaling 36 hours per week. Relocation assistance is available for qualifying moves from ≥50 miles away.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) or an Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma.
- Current NC State Board of Nursing license as a registered nurse (or compact licensure).
- BLS Certification required.
Responsibilities
- Plan and provide professional nursing care for patients per care plans and policies.
- Document nursing care using the nursing process under supervision of team leader or charge nurse.
- Delegate tasks and supervise other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
- Assist other healthcare personnel in delivering patient care.
- Maintain environment and resources, prioritizing tasks to complete care timely.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and performance improvement activities.
