Job summary

Advocate Children's Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the third shift (6:30pm-7am) at Park Ridge, IL. Full-time position with a 36-hour week, every other weekend and holiday rotations. Includes a $15,000 sign-on bonus, loan forgiveness and tuition reimbursement up to $20,000.

Career ladder opportunities offer additional yearly bonuses up to $6,000. Responsibilities include patient assessment, ventilation support, delivering treatments, and education.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with at least an associate degree.
• RCP license in state of practice; NBRC credentials within 12 months or CRT if prior to Jan 1, 2023.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients using pulmonary diagnostics and related data.
• Operate ventilators and assist physicians at bedside.
• Deliver prescribed respiratory therapies.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment.
• Educate patients on therapy goals and self-care.
• Collaborate with other departments to manage patient care.
• Adhere to policies and maintain professional behavior.
• Communicate clearly and hand off patient information.
• Promote patient safety and report safety events.
• Teach and precept new teammates and students.
• Provide age-appropriate care across life span.
