Job summary

MemorialCare is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Care Practitioner III for Miller Children’s Hospital at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. This part-time role in the Transport Team involves day shifts (12hr) with a $2,500 signing bonus for external hires, contingent on employment requirements.

The RCP III will provide expert care, supervise/mentor staff, and lead in clinical situations while ensuring compliance with policies and patient safety.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of acute care experience in Critical Care required.
• Graduate of an AMA accredited School for Respiratory Care or equivalent.
• Current CA RCP license; BCLS-Healthcare Provider.
• NRP (specialty area; NICU) and PALS/NRP (specialty area; Pediatrics).
• At least two advanced credentials: NPS, ACCS, RPFT, COPD Educator, or similar.
• RRT (required for all new hires after Jan 1, 2014).

Responsibilities

• Provides expert patient care in emergent and non-emergent situations by administering medications and performing interventions.
• Uses equipment appropriately to evaluate and treat patients.
• Develops and teaches patient/family knowledge for illness management.
• Identifies healthcare-associated infections and follows infection control policies.
• Documents and bills for all interventions accurately in the medical record.
