Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for Pediatric Rehab to assess, treat, and plan individualized therapy programs for children based on development and medical diagnoses. The role requires collaboration with families and a multidisciplinary team in a hospital/rehabilitation setting.

This full-time position offers day shifts, supervision of students as allowed, and potential sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Experience in site-specific level of care preferred but not required. For Home Health positions one year of clinical experience required.
Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or eligible to complete clinical fellowship year (CFY); Licensed to practice in Virginia.
AHA BLS-certified within six months of employment.
Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Provides patient assessments and plans individualized treatment programs based on age and medical diagnoses.
Coordinates patient care and communicates with patients, families, therapists, clinicians, and physicians.
Documents in the medical record and completes forms in compliance with regulations.
Collaborates with staff, volunteers, and students to ensure quality patient care.
May supervise students and orient new staff; participates in in-services and committees.
