Job summary

Hurley Medical Center is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant for the Child and Adolescent Dentistry Department in Flint, MI. You will assist dentists and hygienists, take intraoral and panoramic radiographs, maintain sterile instruments, and manage patient records in the electronic system.

Qualifications

• Must have active RDA license issued by the State of Michigan.
• Successful completion of a CODA-accredited dental radiography course or substantially equivalent required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Two years post-education dental assisting experience preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of EDR required, Dentrix experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills required in Microsoft Word and Outlook; digital radiographs.
• Must have communication and interpersonal skills to interact with children, families, and staff.
• Must have a reliable vehicle or transportation to travel for Health Center business.
• Certified Dental Assistant applicants with pediatric experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Chairside assistance with dentists or hygienists; passing instruments and maintaining sterile field.
• Take/develop radiographs and manage patient records in the electronic system.
• Infection control, sterilization, and operatory setup/cleanup.
• Assist with patient and parent education regarding treatments and consent.
• Support sedation cases with monitoring and hospital coordination as needed.
• Prepare and maintain impressions, labs, and equipment for procedures.
• Rotate through hygiene, sterilization, radiography, and lab areas as assigned.
