Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine in Hyde Park seeks a Radiology Assistant to join the Radiology General Procedures team. This 100% onsite role supports patient care, image acquisition, and PACS workflow under the Imaging Team Leader and RRT.

The position is part-time or registry (0.5 or 0.1 FTE) with rotating shifts, weekend coverage every other week, based in the greater Chicagoland area.

Qualifications

• A completed High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited body is required.
• Experience in Radiology Imaging, Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EKG, or basic respiratory therapy is beneficial.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; perform tasks with minimal supervision; physical effort is required.
• Computer skills; data input into databases accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under supervision of the RRT.
• Prepares patients for radiographic testing and assists in image acquisition.
• Supports operation of Radiology department equipment and PACS/RIS processes.
• Maintains clinical facilities, supplies, and room preparation.
• Mentors new staff and participates in CQI projects.
