Qualifications

• MD from an accredited medical school (Required)

• Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment.
• Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
• Ability to function independently in evaluating patient problems and developing a plan for patient care.
• Ability to discuss ethical concepts with patient/family/healthcare team.
• Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and students.
• Commitment to Continuing Medical Education and staying current in subspecialty.
• Fully licensed and credentialed attending staff on CNMC medical staff (Required). Board certified or eligible (Required).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services for patients at Children's National Hospital and approved sites.
• Oversee medical care team and manage direct patient care for a specified population.
• Provide on-call services as determined by division leadership.
• Engage in family-centered care and communicate with patients, families and trainees.
• Escalate using defined chain of command and return timely updates to trainees.
